養 生湯

Seri Muka

Sweet Rice :
1 cup Sweet Rice (soak in water for 4 hours)
2 tbsp Coconut Milk
1 tsp Salt
3 Pandan Leaves
1/2 cup Water

Steam above mixture 15-20 mins

Top Layer
1 cup Rice Flour
1/2 cup Sugar
1 1/4 cup Pandan Juice (Liquefy the Pandan Leave with water)
2 tbsp Coconut Milk

After 15-20 mins pour top layer of rice flour mixture and steam for 15 - 20 mins.

Chocolate Chip Cookie _ Vivian

1 3/4 cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Softened Butter
3 cups Conflakes
1 cup Chocolate Chips

Bake 13 mins
350 Degree F.

Diarrhoea - an effective remedy

When someone gets diarrhoea, sometimes the solution is so easy, we
wonder why anyone has to suffer.

The secret is in rice water.

Boiled a handful of rice with two 1.5L bottles of water.
Then you cool that and drink the water

When drinking the rice water, make sure there is lots of it. You have to
tell the patient that enough water must go in to line your guts from
throat to other end, all 10 to 12 metres of it. If you take rice, it
stays in the stomach. If you take broth, some of it may go into the
small intestine.

But if you take rice water, it will carry rice grains to every inch of
your small and large intestine to the end where the problem is.

用料是: 綠豆2兩,綠茶2湯匙,冰糖適量.

做法: 綠豆搗碎,綠茶葉放入茶包袋中; 先將綠豆用4碗水煮半小時成3碗,加入茶包,冰糖,再煮約7分鐘左右,飲湯吃綠豆.
~ 小貼士: 綠豆皮中含有多量活性成分,若製成去皮的綠豆沙,治病功能大減.
脾胃虛弱者只可少量服用此茶,甲狀腺功能低下者忌服. 年長者如怕寒涼,可用紅糖代替冰糖.

Cancer Killer - Ginger n barley

The powerful healing effects of ginger have been well documented. It's a proven remedy for upset stomach. Reams of studies show that it inhibits inflammation. And there is substantial evidence that it fights cancer too..

For instance, a recent University of Michigan study showed that when ginger was added to ovarian cancer cells in the laboratory, it caused the cancer cells to self-destruct (a process known as "apoptosis").

In a separate study at the University of Minnesota , researchers injected
colon cancer cells into mice that were bred to have no immune system.

Half of these mice were routinely fed gingerol, the main active component in ginger. The researchers found that the mice that were fed gingerol lived longer, their tumors were smaller, and the cancer did not spread as widely as in the control group.

With all these health benefits, you should be using ginger as often as you can. The best way I've found to get a healthy serving of ginger is to juice it. (The brand of juicer I use is an Omega.) Two or three days a week, I juice an apple or two, some carrots, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, and a big piece of ginger root.

Loh Mai Kai 糯米鸡

10 cups glutinous/sweet rice
5-6 drum_stick chicken
1 Chinese sausage ( Lap Cheong)
20 Chinese Black mushrooms
10 pieces Shallots
10 pieces Garlics

Chicken Marinate and seasoning.

# 1 tsp light soy sauce
# 3 tsp sesame oil
# 3 tsp oyster sauce
# 1 cup ginger juice
# 1 tsp sugar
# 1 tsp pepper
# 1/2 tsp salt
# 1/2 cup Shao Hsing Hua Tiau wine
# 1 tsp dark soy sauce
# 1 tsp oil
# some Ajinomoto(Optional)
# 3 tbsp ginger from ginger juice ( not for marinate) Keep this ginger for later use !

Cut the drum_stick chicken into smaller pieces and rinse with clean water.
Soak Black mushrooms until soft and cut into half.
Chinese Sausage (Lap Cheong) thinly sliced. Marinate with seasoning above for about one to two hours.
After 2 hours. Prepare 5 minced shallots and 5 minced garlic, heat 3 tbsp oil and saute shallots, garlics and ginger till fragrant. Put all your marinate chicken, Lap Cheong, Mushroom and saute till 1/2 cooked.
Get a bowl and set the half cooked chicken aside.

Glutinous/sweet Rice and seasoning. Soak Glutinous/sweet rice at least 4 hours.

# 1 1/2 tsp light soy sauce
# 1 tsp pepper
# 1 tsp sugar
# 1/2 tsp salt
# 2 Tbsp oil
# 1 tsp sesame oil
# 1 tsp dark soy sauce

Drain the sweet rice water out, and prepare 1 cup water. Heat 3 tbsp oil and saute the rest of minced shallots and garlics till fragrant. Put all your sweet rice, 1 cup water and seasoning. Stir fry well for 5 minutes. Then put in a clean bowl.

Prepare 20 small Lo Mai Kai bowls or rice bowls. Add 1 piece mushrooms,1 chinese sausage, 1 piece of chicken and some gravy into the bottom of the bowl. Fill up with glutinous/sweet rice and press down with a spoon.

Repeat this for 20 times. and steam for 45 minutes.

Done. Leftover can be freeze for 2 weeks.
